{"id":28,"date":"2018-10-24T13:40:18","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T03:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/robclarke.com.au\/?p=28"},"modified":"2018-11-26T13:34:12","modified_gmt":"2018-11-26T03:34:12","slug":"the-frog-and-the-ibis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/robclarke.com.au\/index.php\/2018\/10\/24\/the-frog-and-the-ibis\/","title":{"rendered":"The Frog and the Ibis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One sunny afternoon, a frog was sitting on a rock, the cool clear stream, which was his home, lapped gently as it passes by.<br \/>\nThe frog sighed, \u201cWhat a wonderful world it is, everything in it\u2019s place and a place for everything\u201d he said out loud.<br \/>\nNow, philosophical frogs being quite hard to find, a passing Ibis, on hearing the frog\u2019s proclamation, was quite intrigued, made a fast U turn, and flew down to the bank of the stream, landing just near the rock.<br \/>\n<!--more-->\u201cI couldn\u2019t help overhearing your thoughts frog,\u201d said the Ibis, \u201cwhat do you use as a basis for your understanding?\u201d<br \/>\nThe frog, quite pleased to have someone to discuss the finer points of life with, took a deep breath and replied, \u201cWell Ibis, it\u2019s like this. In the world there are clearly defined habitats for all God\u2019s creatures, for example, this stream right here was made for frogs, and frogs, made to live in streams.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cAnd what else?\u201d inquired the Ibis.<br \/>\n\u201cI was getting the that,\u201d the frog, a little annoyed at being interrupted, continued. \u201cAs I was saying, there are special places for all creatures, take yourself, you have wonderful wings so you can fly through the air, soaring on thermals a great way up, and we might well say, that the thermals and indeed the very sky itself, was made just for you!\u201d<br \/>\nThis concept caught the imagination of the Ibis, who had never really considered his place in the great scheme of things at all.<br \/>\n\u201cThis logic of yours frog, has great merit, are there any more examples of this grand plan?\u201d<br \/>\nThe frog, quite taken with the praise from the Ibis, was greatly pleased with his audience\u2019s response, sadly though, his pride grew, and his chest puffed out.<br \/>\n\u201cThe list goes on and on Ibis, you fly above the earth, I live here in the stream, yet there are worms who live under the ground, fish and great wales that swim in the vast oceans, all perfectly matched to their environments, everything in harmony.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI don\u2019t know about wales,\u201d replied the Ibis, \u201cbut I do understand worms, so I have no reason to suspect you are at all wrong in what you say, and,\u201d he went on, \u201cI will go so far as to say I have never met a more intelligent frog in my life.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Frog, with mock humility, thanked the Ibis for his kind comments, and for the opportunity to discuss things of great import with another one of God\u2019s creatures.<br \/>\n\u201cWell Frog,\u201d said the Ibis finally, \u201cI really must be going now,\u201d and so, with a lick of his lips and the flap of his wings, the Ibis flew off to continue his journey. \u201cThat was a very nice Frog,\u201d he thought to himself, and licked his lips again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One sunny afternoon, a frog was sitting on a rock, the cool clear stream, which was his home, lapped gently as it passes by.
